Re: "Hostilities between Israel and the Palestinians did not start on Oct. 7"
Israel’s continued violence and oppression against the Palestinian people only deepens the rift, and makes true justice ever more elusive. While it may be difficult for Palestinians and Israelis to see beyond their immediate grievances, other voices – including Canada – must be better at bringing justice and reason to bear.

Re: "Jewish students at TMU no longer feel safe walking on campus”
Israel is a settler colonial project built on an apartheid system and the suffering of Palestinians — whether Jew, Muslim, or Christian — to not see otherwise is a complete whitewashing of reality.

Appreciation for CBC's Good Coverage on Islamophobic and Anti-Palestinian Racism Incident
Your article, which directly quotes Amira Elghawaby, the federal government’s special representative on combating Islamophobia, accurately highlights that this incident is a blatant attempt to portray Canadian Muslims and communal prayer as threatening and dangerous. Your fair and accurate reporting shows that such content is undeniably Islamophobic and contributes to the growing climate of fear and hostility towards the Muslim community in Canada.

A response to your article "Weaponizing IHRA and ignoring foreign interference"
"Criticism of the Israeli government also costs many of those individuals in terms of their professional and political lives and roles. A fear of speaking out silences those voices within government settings, academic institutions and other public institutions."
Montreal Gazette Article by Ms. Lalonde misrepresents intents of student protestors
"The lack of contextualization results in a one-sided narrative about the image used by the encampment. Your voices seem to conflate Palestinians and their supporters as terrorist sympathizers. There is a double standard at play here, as similar historical images featuring Israeli soldiers with guns would likely not be scrutinized in the same manner. I also believe this framing meets the standard legal definition of Anti-Palestinian Racism as defined by the Arab Canadians Lawyer Association. Anti-Palestinian racism dehumanizes Palestinians and their allies, slandering them as inherently antisemitic or as terrorist sympathizers."
Alex Pierson radio show stereotypes And Dehumanizes Palestinians Painting Them As Inherent Threats
"The broadcast refers to the pro-Palestine student associations as terrorist organizations. This grossly stereotypes and dehumanizes Palestinians, painting them as inherent threats."
Thank you Niagara Falls Review for your exhaustive coverage of Halifax student protest encampments
"Ms. Phillips’ reporting gave voice to the protestors, and the many efforts they have made to engage with university administrations. It also provided much more granularity on the back-and-forth between the students and their respective institutions, emphasizing the great effort taken by the students to engage with their institutions and communities."
Montreal Gazette is Conflating Palestinians Students with Terrorism Again
"This impartiality has no place in our legacy media, and it puts the Gazette’s journalistic integrity into question if you cannot even bother to send someone down to McGill to do basic journalism."

Article on peace initiatives could have been much stronger
I feel like your language around how each side, Hamas and Israel, are responding the UNSC ceasefire resolution is also unfair. Your selective description of Hamas’ response chooses to dehumanize Palestinians (“necessary sacrifices”), while your description of Israel’s response makes them sound like measured strategists.
