Thanks + constructive feedback on student strikes

Describing it as the “Hamas-run” Health Ministry is not a neutral designation; it is a politically loaded term that portrays Palestinian hospitals as suspicious and untrustworthy - as if the facts must first pass through a filter of suspicion. Continue reading

Thanks for the Oct 7 article on St. John's city council's support of Palestinians

In addition to highlighting the role that municipal politics can play in putting pressure on the federal government on behalf of the community concerned about Israel’s ongoing genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza, and providing multiple examples of similar initiatives at municipal level across Canada, the article points out clearly where Canada is falling short, such as the disparity in Canada’s refugee and visa programs for  Palestinians vs. Ukrainians and Afghans, and Canada’s continued export of military components to Israel.  Continue reading

Article mouthpiece for Israeli propaganda - urgent correction required

To so crudely question the well-documented famine and the Palestinian death count is cruel, offensive, and shoddy. If one is to raise such serious allegations, that virtually the entire international human rights community is conspiring to invent false claims about Israel’s genocide, a journalist ought to investigate the questions meaningfully, not only cite baseless Israeli government and military denials. Mischaracterization of Israel as a Democracy

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a historic ruling on July 19, 2024 that found multiple and serious international law violations by Israel towards Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including, for the first time, finding Israel responsible for apartheid.  Continue reading

Thanks for balanced coverage on Israel's illegal settlement in the West Bank

Footage at 4:46:10 exposing settler violence against Palestinians and military complicity, along with the segment where the CBC crew is followed by ultranationalist Jewish settlers from an illegal outpost, are effective in helping Canadians understand the severity and tactics of intimidation first-hand.   Continue reading

Concerns October 1st segment on the Trump "Peace Plan"

In addition to genocide, Israel has subjected Palestinians in Gaza to decades of blockade, illegal occupation, and apartheid, as documented by UN bodies and many international and Israeli human rights organizations. The fact that the segment doesn’t mention any of this whitewashes Israel’s war crimes. Continue reading

Language does not reflect the criminal nature of Israel's actions

Since May, Israel has been controlling the deadly and chaotic, and highly limited, distribution of food through the so-called US-Israel backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, with the Gaza Ministry of Health reporting that there have been 2,018 fatalities and more than 14,947 injuries between May 27 and August 21, 2025 among people trying to access food supplies. Concerns regarding article about Trump’s proposal

To be clear, I am not asking you to take sides in your reporting on Palestine and Israel but rather to provide reporting that includes new and significant developments in both Canadian and United Nations positions. I appreciate your consideration and look forward to your responses to my questions and request. Continue reading

Israel is waging a genocide in Gaza, not war

Calling it the “Israel-Hamas war” suggests two equal sides, when in reality Israel is an occupying power with one of the most advanced militaries in the world, and Palestinians are a stateless, besieged population living under apartheid. This framing erases the power imbalance and diminishes the reality of Palestinian suffering under a genocidal campaign. Continue reading

Ben Mulroney unfit to host The West Block

Mr. Mulroney’s overlapping roles — as a paid political event host, a donor and fundraiser for the Conservative Party, an ambassador for a registered lobby group, and an adviser to private companies — constitute clear violations of these standards. His actions create not only a real conflict of interest but also the perception of bias, both of which are grounds for CBSC complaints. If Global proceeds with Mr. Mulroney as host of The West Block, it risks undermining public trust in Global News’ compliance with CBSC codes. Global News should expect formal complaints for breaching standards of fairness, accuracy, and independence if it does not course correct immediately. Continue reading
